Soroptimist International Club of Bangsar (SI Bangsar) was chartered on 23rd October 1992. SI Bangsar is part of an international organisation – Soroptimist International which is a global voice for women working through awareness, advocacy and action in over 125 countries and has 3,000 clubs worldwide with over 93,000 members.

Like all other Soroptimist International clubs around the world, SI Bangsar upholds the Soroptimist International vision and mission. SI Bangsar is a service organisation comprising business and professional women who are actively involved in community service projects with the primary objective to advance the rights of women and children in both local and national communities.

Soroptimists work together in a spirit of friendship and fun to make the world a better place for all. Members are encouraged to be aware of and involved in local and global issues. A Friendship Link system encourages joint projects between clubs in developing countries by clubs in developed countries. Soroptimist membership opens the doors to opportunities for international experiences and friendships.


SICB Charity Treasure Hunt

If you are someone who enjoys making a difference and lending a helping hand and at the same time likes to have a good time, then this is an event just for you! The Soroptimist International Club of Bangsar bring to you “The SICB Charity Treasure Hunt- Hunt with a Heart!”.

This year SICB will celebrate their 18th Anniversary with a Charity Treasure Hunt on 31 Oct 2010 with proceeds going to uplift the economic and social status of... disadvantaged women and girls. The funds will sponsor life-skills training and workshops to improve their lot as shown in the map below. As a community service organization, they rely on the generosity of corporate and individuals.

The Treasure Hunt with a Heart is looking for 50 cars. The cost of participating is RM 320 per car and this includes snacks , a goodie bag and tea at the finish line along with some fine entertainment and fun for the whole family. It flags off from the Sime Darby Convention car-park and finishes at one of SICB’s community projects at Janda Baik.
